Lots going on this weekend. The original plans were to race saturday at Tour de Tykes and then ride with a friend to pittsburgh to see the steel city showdown. Well earlier in the week the race got moved to sunday so i made plans to attend Mohican in Ohio which was saturday. No problem plans will remain the same, race saturday ride sunday. Nope friday i hear that mohican got moved to sunday also due to the predicted weather. Just great! Now i was a little irritated becasue i wasnt changing my plans with friends so i figured there wouldnt be any racving and since i dont have a race bike built yet it really didnt bother me other than the disapointment of not getting a race in for training.
Saturday morning found me drinking coffee and I stiumbled across the the schedule for Yellow Creek State Parks races. Wow it was today so i took a quick look at the clock and realized i had time. The rain had kinda stopped so i loaded up the Trek Rig and headed out. What a fantastic time at the event. Sure there were less than 10 of us but i really enjoy the trails.
Sunday found me installing the coffee tray on the Transport before riding of for the day with my friend Daryl. I met him at the Farm where his P1 Madone was leaning against the house and i prepared for a butt kicking in the wind. We made it downtown in just over an hour and a half, just in time to see the women finish and plenty of time to hit the Trek of Pgh tent for some freshly grilled food! Plenty of people there to see, like Gunnar and Bunny and we also ran into my favorite Trek Rep Bob Myers waiting at the Bus stop for his pick up (wife not the Bus).
We then pedaled up the Shadyside Store to say hi and headed back to Butler.
A great weekend of bicycling!
